i tried. there seem to be so many obstacles along the way and i’m tired already. scratch that birthday resolution.
my birthday resolution is to do my bloody best at work, against all odds and in spite of everything. I’m tired of being inefficient and just surviving on borderline, and regretting after. this is getting old.

24. urgh. I do not like the sound of that number (and any number that comes after it for the matter).
I physically feel sick at work and leave work with a pounding headache and feeling like a horrible person. bah.

songkran takes place between 13 to 15 April, signifying the start of the Thai new year. I learnt that the act of splashing water is somewhat a culture, a tradition that’s been passed on. for bigger cities like Bangkok and Chiangmai, they celebrate the entire three days. for the smaller towns, like krabi, they only celebrate on the first day. in krabi, the end of songkran also marks the start of the low season, where showers are more frequent and streets less crowded as less tourists visit the town.

met this tuktuk driver in koh lanta. his name is sak. it was just a short ride, just 2km from saladan town to lanta mermaid, and he left such a great impression. he told us about his hometown, lipe - about the white sandy beaches, how it’s 1 hour away from langkawi and it’s expensive to go from lanta. after we alighted, he said, ‘remember me’. for some reason, I think I will.
